SHOPIAN: The bullet-riddled bodies of three abducted cops were recovered from south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday.

The slain cops have been identified as Firdous Ahmad Kuchay, Kulwant Singh and Nisar Ahmad.

Three cops and the brother of a policeman were abducted by the militants during raids at their homes in Batagund and Kapren villages of Shopian last night.

Soon after their abduction, police had launched a manhunt to trace them.

The bullet-riddled bodies of three cops were recovered from Dangam village of Shopian today morning.

Reports said that the abducted brother of a policeman has been released.

The policemen were abducted nearly three weeks after militants had abducted relatives of policemen from various places in south Kashmir on August 30 in retaliation of detention of relatives of militants.

The relatives were later released after police released the families of the militants.
