Says no candidate can compete with Mian Altaf, he is best choice for people

SRINAGAR: National Conference (NC) Vice President Omar Abdullah Wednesday said that Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) secret candidates in Kashmir cannot win Lok Sabha elections and that no candidate can compete with Mian Altaf Ahmad Larvi in Anantnag-Rajouri parliamentary constituency.

Talking to the reporters in Larnoo area of Kokernag, Omar as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has hinted not to filed their candidates from Kashmir and even stated they are not in hurry to make Lotus bloom in the valley, but the fact is they fielded their candidates from across Kashmir in 2014 elections, but failed to open their account.

“Now they (BJP) have been fighting elections with the support of others. We are openly contesting the elections with the support of INDI Alliance, but they are trying to keep the secret alliance hidden, which they have failed to ensure,” Omar said.

From South Kashmir, he said that there cannot be a strong candidate like Mian Altaf. “They cannot find any candidate who can compete with NC’s Mian Altaf Ahmad Larvi, he is the only candidate who can represent the people in a good way.  I hope the people will accept it too,” he added.

PC Chairman Sajad Gani Lone and BJP leader Tarun Chugh met at Altaf Bukhari’s residence recently, which has exposed their alliance, he said, adding that people are well aware about their plans, thus winning elections have become difficult for the people who are fighting from BJP side.

Asked about his fight against Sajad Lone in Baramulla Parliamentary constituency, he said that every candidate is a strong contender, but let the votes be polled and the stringer candidate will be known to all
