HYDERABAD: The Telangana Government first Pay Revision Commission (PRC) for state employees has recommended the enhancement in age of superannuation from 58 years up to 60 years. It has also recommended a fitment of 7.5 per cent on basic pay. This decision would benefit about 9.37 lakh employees.

The other recommendations of the PRC include Child Care Leave (CCL) be enhanced from 90 days to 120 days in the case of normal children. In case of disabled children, the CCL will be enhanced from 90 days to two years, on par with the Central government. During this leave employees will be granted with 100 per cent of the salary for the first 365 days and 80 per cent of the salary for the next 365 days.

In another significant recommendation the CCL will be extended to single male parents who may include unmarried or widower or divorcee employees.

The report presented to the government today said the DA for employees should be merged as on July 1, 2018, the new scales should come into operation from the same day. However, it has been left to the government to take a view on the date from which the financial benefit would accrue.

However, the Commission has not recommended any special increment for possessing higher qualifications.

Special Disability Leave is substituted by a new Leave named “Work Related Illness and injury Leave (WRILL)” and Special Disability Leave for accidental injury and Hospital Leave are merged in WRILL.

The state government had constituted the first Pay Revision Commission of Telangana state in May 2018. Though it was told to submit its report in three months, the committee submitted its report on December 31, 2020.

Just yesterday a former minister and Congress MLA D Sridhar Babu had asked Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) to implement the recommendation of the PRC.
