KUPWARA: The students preparing for various competitive exams on Monday urged authorities to restore high-speed Internet in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

On July 11, authorities had suspended mobile Internet services in this north Kashmir’s district following the killing of youth Khalid Gaffar Malik in army firing in Trehgam area of the district.

The residents said the situation has remained normal from past three days and the government should restore the high-speed Internet in the area.

“It has been five days since the Internet was first suspended and then its speed throttled for “security” reasons. In this time of extreme dependence on Internet services, this comes as a rude shock,” read an email sent by a Kupwara resident to Greater Kashmir.
