Slain militants laid to rest after 11 back to back funerals in Pulwama

PULWAMA: Thousands of people on Friday participated in the last rites of two militants slain in a gunfight with the government forces in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Braving snowfall, thousands of mourners from different areas started arriving in their native villages to see their last glimpse. 

Witnesses said that Shahid Ahmad Baba and Inayat Ahmad were laid to rest after 11 back to back funerals at their native villages of Drabgam and Arihal respectively.

Some local pro-freedom leaders also participated in their funerals and addressed the local gathering.

The duo, affiliated with Jaish-e-Muhammad outfit, were shot dead by the government forces in a nocturnal gunfight in Drabgam village.
