SRINAGAR: Division of Veterinary Microbiology & Immunology, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry Shuhama, under the aegis of ICAR-Indian Network for Fishery and Animal Antimicrobial Resistance (INFAAR), organized an Anti-Microbial Resistance (AMR) Dialogue and Panel Discussion today at Vice Chancellor’s Conference Hall, SKUAST -Kashmir Shalimar.
The session was attended by Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Vice Chancellor SKUAST-Kashmir and Dr. M. Ashraf Ganai, Director SKIMS, Soura. various stakeholders from medical, veterinary, environmental, agricultural and other industrial sectors also attended the daylong event.
Both the key speakers in inagural session threw light on importance of the AMR in current times and need for collaboration among different stakeholders to combat the menace.
The highlight of the event was panel discussion on the theme “One Health, One future: Combating AMR together” The session focused on current trends, global frameworks, and regional perspectives on AMR mitigation, fostering cross-sectoral collaboration under the One Health approach.
It is pertinent to mention that Antimicrobial Resistance awareness week was celebrated with different events like Debate, Essay, Quiz, Painting, poster competition and Farmers and School Outreach Programs on AMR.
A documentary in this regard was also displayed at the inaugural session while various felicitations of students and others concerned in successful conduct of the program was held at the end of the event.
