The Community Health Center (CHC) in Hajin was established in the year 1962-63 and since then it was not developed as it should have been in the present status, said local resident of Hajin.

He said that, they have been left at the mercy of God, we made representation before the former Member of Legislative Assembly number of times, but nothing was done for the area.

“The CHC was never developed on modern lines, there is a huge population in Hajin area, and the people are suffering like anything, we have been shown green meadows only,” said local inhabitant of Hajin area.

Locals alleged that, almost staff remains absent from their duties, with the result local masses suffers a lot, as this area is being considered as centrally located place in Bandipora district.

Hajin being a Model Village is politically deprived with the result no attention was paid to the area due to which common masses are facing many difficulties.

“The indifference’s between political parties have made us to suffer, recently we took participation in Lok Sabha elections, and the result is before the political leaders, they should have understand the miseries of a masses, but they are hardly bothered about it,” said locals.

“The lawmaker and Member of Parliament (MP) from Baramulla Parliamentary constituency has not made any visible progress on developmental fronts, otherwise we would not been facing hardships,” locals alleged.

Locals also said that from another side, their constituency Sonawari is lacking basic facilities, our roads are in shambles, electricity, health, education, PHE, and other sectors are completely disappointed.

Political leaders have failed to deliver their promises which they had made at the time of elections, presently as they are invisible on ground now, said locals of Shahgund.

“The condition of the roads is same as it was several years back, despite the fact that present MP of north Kashmir is from our village, but still lot of problems in the area remain unaddressed due to the indifferent attitude of the legislator,” said a local resident of Sonawari.

The health department has no sufficient infrastructure and patients are usually referred to other nearby hospitals for minor complications, which need to be readdressed at earliest, sources told Street Times.
