SRINAGAR: The KVK Ganderbal held its 15th Scientific Advisory Meeting Committee under the chairmanship of Prof. Nazeer Ahmed, Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-K today on 9th of April, 2019
Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-K, Prof Nazeer Ahmad lauded the efforts of the Kendra in coming to the expectation of the farming community of the district Ganderbal. He stressed for promotion of integrated farming system, high density apple plantation for higher returns and quality produce. and advised farmers gathering to take advantage of presence of scientists at the Kendra and seek their guidance for all issues concerning their farming be it agriculture, horticulture, animal or sheep husbandry, fisheries, forestry or sericulture.
He also advised KVK functionaries to further strengthen the linkages with the officers of the Development Departments to serve the community in a coordinated manner.
Earlier Dr Javed Ahmad Bhat, Head, KVK Ganderbal, gave a power point presentation of the various activities undertaken by the Kendra last year and also presented the proposed action plan for 20119-2020.
Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad, Director Extension, SKUAST-K also spoke and advised various measures to be initiated afresh aimed for enhancing the farm income of the farmers.
Besides Scientists of the Kendra, officers of SKUAST-K, heads of various development departments of the district, the meeting besides attended by progressive farmers and farmwomen of the district. Heads of Line Departments and some of the farmers also spoke and presented their ideas to the University for taking up in the action plan for coming year.
