Saurabh Bhagat reviews status of essential commodities across J&K

JAMMU: Commissioner Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Saurabh Bhagat today convened a meeting to discuss and review the availability of Foodgrains, Petroleum products and movement of essential commodities in the aftermath of recent flood situation and prevailing weather conditions across Jammu and Kashmir.

Among others, Deputy Commissioners; Controller Legal Metrology Department J&K; Director, FCS&CA, Jammu; GM FCI J&K; State Level Coordinator J&K and representative of Div Com offices, Traffic, DMRRR J&K, JKRTC, Railways attended the meeting, either in person or virtual mode.

While reviewing the of movement of stuck essential vehicles, he directed the concerned officers to take all measure to clear movement of vehicles/trucks so that essential commodities reach every districts.

He further asked the officers to chalk out the strategies to overcome all challenges in future.

The Commissioner Secretary also emphasized upon them to work in close coordination with each others so that stock position of essential commodities could be maintained. He also asked concerned officers that daily status report of different activities like distribution to be done by concerned authorities should be submitted in both Divisional Commissioner offices as well as Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs department.

The Commissioner Secretary said that the government has taking every steps to improve essential commodities especially in affected areas so that the people cannot face any inconvenience in this regard.

During the meeting, GM FCI, J&K, Director FCS&CA Jammu and other concerned authorities also briefed the Commissioner Secretary about different steps being taken by them to store adequate stock of LPG, Petroleum, Foodgrains and other essential commodities so that any exigency can be tackled.

During the meeting all Deputy Commissioners, briefed the Commissioner Secretary about present status of essential commodities stock available in their respective districts including Food grains, LPG, Petroleum and steps being taken to improve related activities in affected areas due to recent flood and weather conditions.
