Samba hosts seminar on medicinal plants cultivation and entrepreneurship

SAMBA: The Jammu & Kashmir Medicinal Plants Board and the Directorate of Ayush, J&K, in collaboration with District Administration Samba, today organised a district-level seminar on promoting conservation, cultivation and entrepreneurship in the medicinal plants sector.

The event, held under the directions of Director Ayush J&K Dr Nuzhat Bashir Shah and supervised by District Nodal Officer Ayush Samba Dr Renu Dass was attended by Deputy Commissioner Samba Ayushi Sudan as chief guest.

The seminar brought together experts from SKUAST Jammu, RARI Jammu, the Directorate of Ayush, and the Department of Horticulture Samba, along with faculty from Government Degree College Samba. Key topics discussed included scientific cultivation, biodiversity conservation, value addition and processing, and entrepreneurship opportunities for youth.

Progressive farmers from the district shared their experiences, while students, farmers, medical officers and Ayush officials participated in the programme. Subject experts were felicitated and the event concluded with a commitment to sustainable cultivation and promotion of medicinal plants in J&K.
