Samba gears up for Gurpurab celebrations

SAMBA: Deputy Commissioner Samba Ayushi Sudan today chaired a high-level coordination meeting in the meeting hall of the DC Office Complex to finalize arrangements for the celebration of Gurupurab.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized ensuring uninterrupted essential services, including water supply, electricity and sanitation, throughout the festive period. She directed all concerned departments to work in close coordination to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in and around the Gurudwaras and adjoining areas.

DC Sudan further stressed the importance of conducting timely sanitation drives, effective waste management and proper illumination in and around religious sites to ensure smooth and dignified celebrations for devotees.

Highlighting the need for smooth traffic management, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned authorities to prepare a comprehensive plan to regulate vehicular movement, ensure crowd control and hassle-free passage for devotees and the general public.

The Deputy Commissioner also granted permission to conduct the Nagar Kirtan and instructed all line departments to extend full support to ensure its peaceful and well-organized observance.

The meeting was attended by SSP Samba,  Virendra Singh Manhas; ADDC Samba, Champa Devi Thakur, ADC Jagdish Singh along with ACR, SDMs, CEO, Tehsildars and representatives from various departments including PHE, PDD, Municipal Council, Health and members of the local Gurudwara Committees.
