Sajjad Kichloo criticizes ban on Jamaat-e-Islami

KISHTWAR: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference MLC and former Minister of State for Home Mr Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo on Tuesday criticized imposition of ban on Jamaat-e-Islami and sought immediate review of the decision.

In a statement, Mr Kichloo referred to the role of Jamaat-e-Islami in spread of education and said that the ban will impact smooth functioning of the schools run by the organisation and jeopardize the academic career of lot many students. He described Jamaat-e-Islami as a socio-political orgnistion and said that imposition of ban will not serve any purpose.

“In fact, the decision of the government will prove counter-productive and alienate the people”, he said, hoping the government will allow genuine political activity across the state.
