SCA welcomes restoration of 4G in J&K

SRINAGAR: The Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs (SCA) of the United States Department of State Wednesday welcomed the resumption of 4G mobile internet services in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), SCA welcomed the restoration of 4G service in J&K on its official Twitter handle.

“We welcome the resumption of 4G mobile internet in India’s Jammu & Kashmir. This marks an important step for local residents and we look forward to continued political & economic progress to restore normalcy in J&K,” reads the Tweet.

The Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs deals with U.S. foreign policy and U.S. relations with the countries of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

Notably, high speed internet services were restored in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday after remaining suspended for 18 months after the abrogation of article 370 on August 5, 2019.
