REASI: The Reasi District Administration, under the able leadership of Deputy Commissioner, is working on war footing to restore essential services and ensure safety of people affected by heavy rainfall and flash floods in Mahore Sub Division.
Major roads including Reasi–Arnas–Mahore (RAM) BRO road at Daman and Malai Nallah and Budhal–Mahore–Gool (BMG) BRO road at Sungri, Chasana and Sarh were blocked due to landslides. The diversion at Badora Nallah, constructed after the bridge collapse six months ago, was washed away due to the flash floods. Immediate measures are being taken to restore connectivity at these critical locations.
Under the close supervision of SDM Mahore, Shafqat Majeed Bhat, mobile services were restored in the region by afternoon and partial internet connectivity was ensured, bringing relief to the local population. SDM has also directed Tehsildars to conduct a detailed damage assessment of property and livestock. Importantly, no loss of human life has been reported so far.
The District Administration is monitoring the situation round the clock and has urged people to remain vigilant, avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rains, and strictly follow advisories issued from time to time.
The Reasi Administration reaffirmed its commitment to stand with the people of Mahore and assured that all possible steps are being taken for quick restoration of road connectivity, utilities and normal life.
