UDHAMPUR: Project Manager Integrated Water Management Programme, Udhampur Sapna Kotwal, along with the IWMP team today visited the Ghantal watershed and inspected the ongoing works of Batch-IV.
The Project Manager interacted with the watershed committee members and inquired about the ongoing works aimed at to control soil erosion, raising water table and enhance agriculture land produce. They expressed satisfaction on the execution of work.
Rakesh Kumar, a beneficiary, in whose land bench terracing was constructed, raised his income by micro plantation and started vegetable and fruit cultivation. He praised the efforts of the IWMP department and sought construction of a water harvesting tank in his land to further increase his productivity.
Dr. Nasir Hafiz, DLTE and WDT members, Rakesh Bhagat, Mohammad Wahid besides watershed committee members were present on the occasion.
