Prof. M A Kaw delivers lecture at CUK

Ganderbal: Prof. M A Kaw delivered two extension lectures to the research scholars of the departments of Economics, Politics and Governance, Tourism and Management Studies at Central University of Kashmir’s Green Campus here on Tuesday.

The first lecture was on “Research experiences in Social Sciences” and the second was on “China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)”.

In his first lecture, he stressed on the Inter-disciplinary and Multi-disciplinary approach to research and focused on visualizing a research problem in a global context i.e, To develop a Local-National-Global link to the research problem.

In the second lecture the guest speaker spoke on the benefits of CPEC to China and Pakistan. He also highlighted the socio-economic and political implications for South-Asian region in general and India and Pakistan in Particular.

He also discussed Mackinder’s heartland theory and its relevance to CPEC. At last, various regional economic integration projects – TRACECA, India-Russia Integration project, CASA 1000, and TAPI were also discussed in brief.

Dean School of Social Sciences and H.O.D Economics, Prof. G.M. Bhat gave the welcome address and the formal vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Shahid Bashir.
