Pak HR minister dispatches resolution to UN on violation of children and women rights in Kashmir

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Human Rights Dr Shireen Mazari Tuesday dispatched a resolution to United Nations (UN) on violation of women and children rights in conflict areas of Kashmir to bring attention of world human rights organizations, reported Associated Press of Pakistan.

“We need to move forward by avoiding past lethargic attitude by taking concrete steps for the solution of Kashmir issue,” Associated Press of Pakistan quoted Dr Shireen Mazari as having said.

The report quoted Mazari as having said: “It is high time that we should move forward to UN and present conflict resolution model and push India on the defensive on the issue of violation of rights of women and children.”

She said that the cases of rape were increasing in Kashmir and asked the international community to raise voice for violence against women.

Shireen Mazari said in wake of UN Report on HR violations in Kashmir, long-standing issue of Kashmir had once again come at the centre stage.

“We need to move forward and take concrete steps for resolving outstanding issue of Kashmir,” Associated Press of Pakistan quoted Dr Shireen Mazari as having said.
