One week Research Methodology workshop concluded at IUST

Awantipora: A one-week Research methodology course in Social Sciences concluded on Saturday at Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST), Awantipora. The course was jointly organised by the Rinchen Shah Centre for West Himalayan Cultures and Centre for International Relations (CIR) in collaboration with the Anthropological Survey of India. The workshop was organised keeping in mind the requirement of quality research from institutions of higher learning. Its main objective was to equip research scholars and faculty with the requisite skills to conduct quality research that is relevant to society.

The Course was inaugurated by Prof. Mushtaq A. Siddiqi, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of IUST, on 11th June 2019. Prof. Siddiqi stressed on the need by researchers from the field of Social Sciences to conduct socially relevant research. Prof. A. S. Bhat, who was the guest of Honour reiterated that research should be socially relevant as well as of high quality. The inaugural and welcome address was given by Dr. Sonam Joldan, Head of the Rinchen Shah Centre for West Himalayan Cultures. The workshop concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. Shanawaz Manto, Assistant Professor CIR.
