One-day orientation and training session on Mission YUVA held at Kishtwar

KISHTWAR: A one-day orientation and training programme on Mission YUVA was organised at the Conference Hall of the DC Office Kishtwar for Business Help Desks (BHDs) and YUVA Doots from across the district.

Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner Pawan Kotwal, and Joint Director Employment Jammu Paramjeet Singh graced the event.

The Deputy Commissioner highlighted the mission’s role in empowering youth, strengthening grassroots outreach, and connecting unemployed youth with sustainable livelihood and skill development opportunities. The Additional Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of coordination between departments, BHDs and YUVA Doots, urging proactive grassroots efforts for maximum outreach and timely assistance.

The Joint Director Employment called for the efficient implementation of Mission YUVA’s schemes, encouraging teams to enhance field engagement, offer accurate guidance and connect youth with livelihood, skill training and entrepreneurial opportunities.

The training aimed to familiarise participants with Mission YUVA’s objectives, operational framework and their role in bridging the gap between aspirational youth and employment avenues. Heads of all BHDs, including SDMs from Paddar, Marwah and Chatroo, attended the session.

Key resource persons included Shafqat Ali Keen, Assistant Director Employment Kishtwar; Vinod Shant, Employment Officer Kishtwar; Aejaz Ahmed, DNO JKEDI and the District Coordinator JK Bank Kishtwar. Topics covered included SBDU, BHD and YUVA Doot functions, financial linkages, working capital assistance, mobile app usage, IEC planning, counselling, portal registrations and mobilisation for skill and entrepreneurship schemes.

The programme concluded with an interactive session where participants shared field experiences and suggestions, marking a step towards strengthening field-level capacities for the effective implementation of Mission YUVA in Kishtwar.
