One day Awareness programme on self-employment schemes held at KGP Gogjibagh, Srinagar

SRINAGAR: In its continuous endeavor to generate awareness and mobilize/motivate the unemployed youth to establish employment generating units in the most promising sectors, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Srinagar, Aijaz Asad and Director Employment, J&K Nisar Ahmad Wani, District Employment & Counseling Centre, Srinagar organized a one day mega Awareness Programme at Kashmir Govt. Polytechnic, Gogjibagh, here.

Resource Persons from various Govt. Line Departments apprised the participating youth about the incentivized self-employment schemes and other flagship programs/youth oriented schemes.

Principal KGP, Er. Imtiyaz Ahmad Shah in his inaugural address emphasized upon the participating youth to come out of their comfort zone and utilize their energy in the most productive way. He expressed his gratitude to the organizers for organizing such a fruitful event in the larger interest of the educated unemployed youth.

Career Counseling Officer, DE&CC Srinagar, Manzoor Ahmad Rather in his Power Point Presentation gave a detailed introduction about the functions/roles of Employment Department and the present Employment Scenario of J&K.

Besides making the candidates aware about the Employment Portal(www.jakemp.nic.in) and the procedure/importance of Registration, the candidates were also acquainted with the National Career Service Portal (www.ncs.gov.in) and the services offered by it vis-a-vis; Registration of Job-Seekers, Counseling, Linking of Job-seeker with the employer, local service provider, Training, Placement, Aptitude Tests, Tracking of Job-fair and Awareness events etc.

Resource Person from Animal Husbandry Department, Dr. Nyra Qazi spoke about  IDDS, IPDP, KCC, MIDH, ISDS, National Livestock Mission, RKVY schemes of the Department and assured every facilitation from their end.

Mohammad Umar, IPO District Industries Centre Srinagar disseminated information about the New Industrial Policy and PMEGP schemes implemented by the Industries Department.

Dr. Irfan Ahmad from Sheep Husbandry Department informed the audience about National Livestock and Disease Control programme, ATMA, RIDF, ISDS, TSP, Mini Sheep Farm, RKVY( Eve-Sheep Units under Participatory mode). While, Hilal Ahmad, Extension officer from Fisheries Department gave a detailed speech about PMMSY scheme.

Employment Officer, DE&CC Srinagar, Ishfaq Ahmad Wani informed the audience about Mission Youth initiatives like Tejaswini, Mumkin, SAHTYA, Youth in Distress etc.

The programme witnessed huge participation and the audience interacted with Resource persons and got their queries replied on spot. To ensure Covid Appropriate Behavior, Masks and sanitizers were also distributed among the participants.
