On World Disability Day DSW , KU organises interaction with specially-abled students

Srinagar: On the eve of World Disability Day, the Department of Students Welfare (DSW) University of Kashmir  organized a general interaction meet with the specially abled students of the university here on Monday.

Around 50 students from different post graduate departments  as well as some research scholars participated in the interaction  which as chaired by Prof. Raies A Qadri, Dean Students Welfare and was attended by different officials of DSW also.

During the interaction the specially abled students raised different issues related to teaching/ curricular/co-curricular/research/hostel facilities and scholarships and sought immediate resolution of their grievances.

Prof. Raies A Qadri, Dean Students welfare informed the students that it is on the directions of the Vice Chancellor that DSW has organised the said interaction and said that the Varsity administration is very much concerned about the welfare of its specially abled students.

While responding to the queries of the students Prof Qadri promised to provide digital wheel chairs out of the local funds to the deserving  students after communicating to the higher authorities.

Prof Qadri added that the special cell of the DSW KU is trying its
utmost efforts to remove all the barriers which causes inconveniences to these “specially able students” while pursuing their higher studies.
