Muslim Brethren Perform Last Rites of Elderly Pandit in South Kashmir’s Pulwama

Srinagar: In a classic act of communal harmony and amity, members of Muslim community Sunday performed last rites of an elderly deceased Pandit in Washbugh in south-Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Kanhaiya Lal, 80, as learnt by GNS, was putting up as a lone family member at Washbugh and died of prolonged illness on Saturday evening.

Soon after news about the death of ‘Kanhaiya’ broke, locals from the area flocked his residence.

The members of Muslim community arranged wood and carried the body to crematorium besides performing other necessary rituals, in accordance with Hindu religion this morning.
