ISLAMABAD: Mushaal Hussein Mullick, wife of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman Yasin Malik, has condemned the banning of the JKLF by the Indian authorities in strongest possible words and said that the unlawful act once again exposed the dirty face of the so-called largest democratic country before the world.

The Chairperson Pakistan Peace and Culture organization in her statement on Saturday said that the brutal Indian authorities believed that they could silence the powerful voice of the Kashmiri people by banning the party and putting Mohammad Yasin Malik behind the bars under the draconian laws but the Indian authorities should bear in mind that such tactics would serve no purpose rather would further complicate things for the occupied forces.

She said that the oppressors through such tactics can neither change the reality of the Kashmir dispute nor deprive the Kashmiri people of their legitimate rights to self-determination anymore .

She said that Indian authorities are afraid of the sentiment of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the Hurriyat leadership.Locking begins bars and slapping black laws on Yasin Malik due to his rising popularity as one of the most powerful voices of the Kashmiri people; India is resorting to such disgusting means.

The Chairperson said that India is trumpeting the mantra of being the largest people’s voice of liberty and democracy; however, democracy is a distant dream in the territory where people are treated in such fashion, adding that these illegal and undemocratic tactics will not stop people and leadership from demanding peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute in accordance with people’s aspirations.

She urged the world powers to play their due part to find out a just and viable solution to the decades-long Kashmir dispute before it is too late, as the Indian occupied forces’ barbarism has crossed all limits.
The Chairperson said that the dream of peace in the region would remain elusive till the settlement of Kashmir dispute as it is the burning flash point of South Asia and major bone of contention between nuclear countries Pakistan and India.

Mushaal also condemned the act of Indian authorities of placing Hurriyat Forum Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq under house arrest in Srinagar, who was confined to his Nigeen residence ahead of a proposed protest after Friday prayers announced by the Joint Resistance Leadership against the custodial killing of a school principal, Rizwan Asad Pandit and ban on JKLF.

The JKLF led by Muhammad Yasin Malik was banned by Indian government on Friday for its pro-freedom activities in occupied Kashmir. Yasin Malik is illegally detained at Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu under draconian law, Public Safety Act (PSA).

She said that World community should play a responsible role and force the Indian government to stop the on-going state-sponsored barbarism and atrocities in the occupied valley, besides ensuring a peaceful and lasting solution to the Kashmir dispute as per UN resolutions.
