It is only we the people who are responsible for destruction

“Bitter Truth”

“Koyi to mujhay samjhayea, kiss ke nazar lag gayi iss Jannat kay tokday ko

Main to kal say dekhta tha, apna ik adhoora sa khwab is haseen shehar main”

I remember when I was a kid of six or seven years old, we used to move without any barricades, parents never scold us, and nobody was keen or bothered about our future consequences as we were left free to take charm of this pleasant natural bounties and abundances of Kashmir.

With the passage of time, we moved towards adulthood, and so the parents tightened our noose, put restrictions on us and used to teach the lessons of life about the Kashmir and its natural gifts that have been showered by Almighty Allah with his willingness and approaches.

The population was less and more equal to subtraction than the present one even though people used to visit to their relatives and friends by foot, as there was limited transport facilities, infrastructure, shops, houses and tall buildings, but alas there was a rapid increased by a huge margins that we were not expecting.

As it is a well-known fact that, Kashmir is called a ‘PARADISE’ on earth, but is it really so, it may be but I don’t believe it has remained so now, I have some reservations against your inbuilt queries that may be looming in and around your centrifugal ideas and thoughts.

Last time a friend of mine told me that at present they are highly thankful of Jammu and Kashmir Bank that has opened its vast schemes to suck the blood of Kashmiris, I hope that they will not mind it what I mean to say.

For an instance, those who do not have enough resource to arrange for a large amount all together and fund the vehicle they wish to buy, availing car loan to buy the car and repay to the bank in convenient installments is a hurricane task as what they earns on daily basis have to save as they to pay the installments of bank, he said.

In Kashmir, people compete with each other, even though if they don’t have shelter to spend the hot and cold nights, or anything to eat or wear but they don’t want to lose their dignity and want to remain the same like of a parallelogram.

At the same time they don’t want to roll in inferiority complex, because the dilly-dallying affairs have compelled to go to any extent, even though they are ready to take a risk whatsoever.

Earlier there used to be joint families, but the European culture has put its impact on our minds like anything and today we prefer to live in nuclear families, and that has led us to create an individual huts for us, and at the same the style of living has compelled us to erect small but strong houses for our families of 2-4.

We unabatedly chopped off the lush green trees for our daily needs, but our inner conscious never pulled us to afforest the trees on bald surfaces as they were going to remain an asset for our forth coming generations, alas! That power of imagination and understanding has gone wide and wider from our selfish interests, we always think about ourselves and we are least bothered about others as by nature we are greedy and hypocrites.

Likewise we see that how some selfish people have grabbed the state land without caring of laws and we are still silent on these issues as like we don’t belong to this mother land that was once called a “Paradise on earth,” but had we ever thought that Kashmir will become like other cosmopolitan or metropolitan cities of India, that are flooded with people, transport, structures, pollution and what not.

You cannot digest bitter truth, but need is to understand that what we are doing for the safety and security of our people and for the better future of our next generations that have yet to come.
