SRINAGAR: Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Monday asked people to remain vigilant of what he called as anti-movement elements and a need to expose the anti-Islam enemies.

While addressing a gathering in the premises of Jamia Masjid, Mirwaiz called for unity to expose black sheep involved in desecration of Jamia Masjid.

He said the people of Jammu and Kashmir have been sacrificing since 1931 for their rights.

“We need to safeguard the sacrifices by the people of Jammu and Kashmir to get their right to self-determination, freedom and their religious and political aspirations,” Mirwaiz said.

He said people have the greatest attachment to the grand mosque and any ill-treatment to it would not be tolerated.

He also urged people to make the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) program of Youm-i-Taqadus on Friday a success.
