Srinagar : An unidentified militant was killed by security forces in North Kashmir Kupwara’s Jumagund area on Saturday.
As per police, the security forces killed a militant in Kupwara district’s Jumagund area after an encounter ensued there. However, the identity and the affiliation of the slain militant was not revealed by the police. It was further said that the Army and Police were on the job, which hints of the operation being in process.
The encounter came after two gunfights took place in South Kashmir and one in Srinagar outskirts in which nine militants were killed by forces.
It is pertinent to mention that 182 militants were killed in the year 2021 during 100 operations, said DGP Dilbag Singh yesterday in a press conference. He had also said that among 182, 44 were top militant commanders pertaining to different proscribed militant outfits.
