JeM militant associate arrested with ammo in Tral: Police

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a militant associate of Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) in Tral area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district and recovered some ammunition from his possession.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the militant associate of JeM namely Irshad Ahmad Reshi was arrested by police in Tral Payeen area.

Police said that he was involved in providing logistic support, shelter, transporting of arms/ammunition and explosive materials in Tral and Awantipora areas.

“Incriminating materials including 10 detonators, one wireless set, two wireless Antenna, one IED remote and contraband substance (Cannabis powder) weighing five kgs have been recovered from his possession,” police said.

Police said that a case under FIR number 101/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Tral and further investigation into the matter is in progress.
