ANANTNAG:- Mega Plantation Drive and Interaction with Village Panchayat Plantation Committees of Anantnag and Kulgam districts was organised by Social Forestry Division Anantnag today at Khudwani Centre of SKUAST Kashmir.
Director Social Forestry Kashmir, Roshan Jaggi participated as Chief Guest and planted saplings, followed by DDC Chairman Kulgam, Mohammad Afzal, Regional Director Social Forestry Kashmir, DFO Social Forestry Anantnag, Shama Rohie, Range Officer Social Forestry Range Kokernag, Syed Ishtiyaq Makhdoomi and other PRIs from Anantnag & Kulgam.
Later while interacting with Village Panchayat Plantation Committee members of Anantnag and Kulgam, the Director discussed importance of afforestation and role, besides responsibilities of department, general public and PRIs in saving the forests and creating awareness about the importance of forests for the sustenance of human race.
Among others who spoke on the occasion include DDC Chairman Kulgam, Regional Director Social Forestry Kashmir, DFO Social Forestry Anantnag, and scientists of SKUAST Khudwini Centre.
On the occasion, the director distributed literature kits about Social Forestry Anantnag among Village Panchayat Plantation Committee members.
