Mega Health Camp: DC B’la visits Sopore; reviews functioning of SDH

BARAMULLA: In connection with the upcoming Mega Health Camp, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar accompanied by various senior officers visited Sub District Hospital (SDH) Sopore to review the functioning of the hospital besides healthcare facilities being provided to the patients. She interacted with the patients and attendants and enquired about the same.

Pertinently, mega health camp is important public services of LG administration commencing from 11th May to 17th May and is intended to cater various health services and about 1500 to 2000 different backlog surgeries beside other services are to be provided during this camp.

While taking a comprehensive review of the functioning of Sub District Hospital Sopore, the DC was informed that SDH Sopore caters about 2000 patients per day in which a number of surgeries are being conducted on a routine basis.

It was also given out that the hospital is equipped with an oxygen plant with 1000 liters of Oxygen capacity.

On the occasion, DC stressed for providing qualitative services to the patients and issued strict directions to the concerned authorities in this regard. She emphasized facilitating essential medicines in health institution so that patients may not suffer.

Directing the concerned authorities to act in an efficient manner, DC stressed for remaining vigilant and said that any kind of laxity on this count will not be tolerated.

Moreover, the DC directed the executing agency (JKPCC) to complete the leftover works including lift and other allied works to provide hassle free health care services to the people and directed the concerned to put in place a viable mechanism so that any kind of emergency is tackled smoothly.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore,  Parvaiz Sajad,  Chief Education Officer Baramulla, G.M Lone, District Information Officer Baramulla,  Jahangeer Akhoon, Block Medical Officer Sopore,  Dr. Zulfikar among other concerned officers were present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, DC also visited Government Higher Secondary School Boys Sopore where she had a brief interaction with the students and enquired them about the facilities and education being provided to them.

The DC assured full cooperation to the institute from District administration whenever required.
