MCH Gandhi Nagar holds yoga session for patients, staff

JAMMU, JUNE 21: Mother and Child care Hospital, (Covid dedicated Hospital),Gandhi Nagar in collaboration with Government Ayurvedic  Medical College (GAMC), Akhnoor, Jammu  (J&K), with technical assistance from Bhartiya Yoga Sansthana celebrates 7th International Yoga Day.

In this session, the patients and staff members were demonstrated special yoga techniques for Post Covid recovery both Physical and Mental.

The programme was organised under the guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Shashi Sudan Sharma and supervision of Dr. Arun Sharma, Medical Superintendent.

The programme began with Dhanvantari Vandana, followed by the Yoga Asanas for Covid appropriate management and recovery procedures.

The Asanas were demonstrated by Kusum Bakshi, Vinay Saraf (CA) & Ravinder Kumar.

The event was coordinated by Dr. Sudesh Gupta, HOD Department of Shalyatantra, GAMC-Akhnoor, Dr. Sukrant Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Shalyatantra GAMC-Akhnoor, Sumit Raina, B.A.M.S. Final Prof. Scholar GAMC-Akhnoor and Rupali Salgotra, B.A.M.S. Final Prof. Scholar GAMC-Akhnoor.

The Highlights of the event included Bhramari Pranayama for respiratory health and Immunity Boosting, Purvottanasana for muscle tone and laughter therapy for stress relief.

Yoga is a holistic approach of India’s ancient culture for unity of body, mind, thoughts and action.
