Vijaynagar: Reacting to Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar’s threatening statement over the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that if the Pakistan-based JeM terrorist dares to threaten India over the ‘mandir’ issue, he will be killed in another surgical strike.

While campaigning for the Rajasthan Assembly Election 2018, the firebrand BJP leader said that if Masood Azhar threatens us over Ram temple, then in a second surgical strike, terrorists like him will be eliminated, and even his masters will not be able to save him, reported news agency ANI.

Adityanath’s strong comments came after Azhar, who is considered to be the brain behind Pathankot Air Force station terror attack in January 2016, had allegedly released an audio tape saying that if a Ram Mandir is built at the site of Babri Masjid then boys from Delhi to Kabul are ready to take revenge.

In the nine-minute audiotape, Azhar is reportedly heard saying that the disputed land should be handed over to Muslims, otherwise people are ready for ‘Qurbani’.

The Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) was severely hit in the cross-LoC surgical strikes on terror launch pads carried out by the Indian Army on the intervening night of September 28-29 in 2016. Around 20 terrorists were eliminated in the attack.

India’s several attempts at the United Nations to get the JeM chief declared an international terrorist has been repeatedly blocked by Pakistan’s main ally China. Beijing has maintained that there is not enough evidence against Azhar. Notably, the UN had banned JeM in 2001.

Azhar’s comments came after the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and many other Hindu organisations recently have been strongly pitching in for the construction of a grand Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

Addressing a rally in Mumbai on December 2, RSS leader Dattatreya Hosabale said that if a huge statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel can be built in Gujarat, then why not a Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

“If Sardar Patel’s statue can be erected on the banks of the Narmada river (in Gujarat), why an act cannot be passed to build a giant Ram temple?” questioned Hosabale.

The VHP’s will organise a massive rally on December 9 for the demand of early construction of Ram temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya. Confirming the same, Joint Secretary Surendra Jain said,

“There will be a huge rally on December 9 here in the national capital, which will pressurise all the political parties to pass a bill for the construction of Ram temple.”

The Uttar Pradesh Shia Central Waqf Board has also come out in support for the construction of Ram Mandir at the disputed site in Ayodhya. The Shia board has submitted before the Supreme Court a proposal for settlement of the decades-old dispute over the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid site.

“Respecting such faith of Hindu community, the UP Shia Central Waqf Board, in the larger interest of nation, is ready to give up its all rights over the Babri Masjid land, a Shia waqf for construction of Shri Ram Mandir with a view to bringing an end to the dispute,” the board has said in its proposal to the apex court.
