Awantipora: Gunmen shot dead a 40-year-old man in Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district late last night.
A police spokesman, in a statement, said Manzoor Ahmad Lone was forcibly taken by militants from his home in Dogripora village of Awantipora and shot dead.
“Body will be handed over to the family members after completion of medico-legal formalities,” he said.
The spokesman said that the police has registered a case in this regard. “Officers from the local police unit are at the spot and are investigating the circumstances which led to this incident,” he said.
A block president of National Conference was shot at by gunmen in Anantnag district of south Kashmir yesterday. He was injured in the attack.
