LS Polls: Seventh class student killed during clashes in Handwara, another critical

Handwara: A 13-year-old boy was killed on Thursday evening after forces personnel allegedly opened fire on protestors in Handwara area of Kupwara district in north Kashmir.

Reports said that a boy identified as Owais Ahmad Mir, son of Mushtaq Ahmad, a resident of Mandigam Qaziabad was injured after government forces clashed with youth in Mandigam area.

Soon after Owais received injuries he was rushed to SDH Kralgund where doctors referred him to Handwara in critical condition but doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead.

Official sources said that Owais was hit by a shell on his head, and lost his life at district hospital Handwara.

The official added that another youth whose name was not known immediately has also received serious injuries during the incident.
