KISHTWAR: The district administration Kishtwar today organized the Sampoornata Abhiyan Samman Samaroh at Chowgan Ground, Kishtwar, to celebrate a major milestone achieved by Marwah block, under the Aspirational Block Programme (ABP)—a flagship initiative launched by the Prime Minister of India in January 2023, covering 500 blocks across 27 States and 4 Union Territories, including 10 blocks from Jammu & Kashmir with Marwah representing Kishtwar district.

The event was marked by the official inauguration “Aakanksha Haat – Vocal for Local” by Union MOS in PMO, Dr. Jitendra Singh, the week-long exhibition showcasing local talent, government initiatives and community innovations.

The program was led by LOP/MLA Paddar-Nagseni, Sunil Sharma in the presence of Guest of Honour, DDC Chairperson Pooja Thakur. The event witnessed participation from Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pawan Kotwal along with senior district officers, department heads and community representatives.

The Sampoornata Abhiyan, conducted from July to September 2024, as part of the ABP initiative by NITI Aayog, focused on the complete saturation of six Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Marwah Block has successfully saturated five of these indicators, earning Silver Recognition from NITI Aayog, a significant milestone for the region.

The Samman Samaroh served as a platform to honour departments, officials, frontline workers, and stakeholders who contributed significantly to these achievements, highlighting the collaborative and inclusive approach of the administration and community.

The dignitaries also inaugurated Aakanksha Haat, a vibrant exhibition aimed at promoting the ‘Vocal for Local’ movement. The haat featured interactive stalls from various departments, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), local artisans and cooperative societies, showcasing innovations, success stories and flagship government initiatives.

Special emphasis was laid on the participation of field functionaries from remote regions like Marwah, reflecting the reach and impact of development initiatives in far-flung areas.

LOP/MLA Sunil Sharma congratulated the district administration and the people of Kishtwar, calling it a moment of pride that reflects the collective efforts towards sustainable and inclusive development.

DDC Chairperson, Pooja Thakur and Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar interacted with stakeholders, evaluated the stalls and appreciated the community engagement on display.

The DDC praised the hard work of all departments and assured continued support for future initiatives.

A cultural event was also organized, with enthusiastic participation from students across various schools, adding a celebratory spirit to the occasion.

The event concluded with a felicitation ceremony, where certificates and medals were awarded to deserving district and block-level officials, frontline workers and support staff recognizing their exceptional contribution to the success of the Abhiyan.
