KVIC organises Awareness Camp on PMEGP at Shopian

SHOPIAN: Khadi and Village Industries Commission today organized an awareness camp on flagship Prime Minister’s Employment Generation programme at the Meeting Hall of Deputy Commissioner’s office, here.

Appreciating the efforts of KVIC for organising such awareness camps, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani described PMEGP as the most beneficial scheme for the rural unemployed youth.

The ADC added that such awareness camps greatly help in guiding the youth towards earning income through self-employment ventures which they can establish under various schemes.

The programme was organised with the aim to create general awareness amongst the public about the schemes of Khadi and Village Industries Commission with special focus and benefits under the PMEGP Scheme.

Principal/ Nodal Officer PMEGP, J&K, Anil Kumar Sharma; Asst. Director (Employment); Lead District Manager, J&K Bank; Director RSETI; District Coordinator KVIC Budgam and a large number of local youth were present.

Earlier, Sharma gave a PowerPoint presentation on PMEGP. He informed the gathering about the online process of PMEGP applications.

He also provided information about the recently started upgradation of PMEGP scheme under which a beneficiary can avail loan up to 25 Lacs in Service Sector and upto 1 crore in Manufacturing Sector.
