Srinagar: The Directorate of Physical Education and Sports University of Kashmir conducted annual Inter college cycle race (Women) which witnessed overwhelming participation from female students of various colleges of the valley.
The race was inaugurated by Dr. Nisar Ahmad khan, Coordinator, Directorate of Physical Education and Sports KU and started from Nishat garden and culminated at RUMI gate of the University.
Stanzin Chondol (GDC Leh),Tashi Lodol (GDC Leh) and Suhaila Mushtaq (GDC Magam) secured first ,second and third positions respectively.
The position winners were felicitated during a prize distribution ceremony held after the race at the Directorate.
Prizes were also given upto 10 positions.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Nisar Ahmad said that the Directorate is committed to provide all possible support to female cyclists and impressed upon them to participate with full enthusiasm in more sports activities.
Mr. Nadeem Ahmad Dar Assistant Director Directorate of Physical Education and Sports conducted the proceedings of the cermony and thanked the authorities of the University, SSP Traffic Srinagar, all Physical Directors of various colleges of the valley, staff of the Directorate, Heath Centre, Proctor Office and Transport Section for their cooperation in making this event a grand success.
