KU’s Mobile awareness program on COVID-19 concludes

SRINAGAR:  The week- long mobile awareness cum essential kit distribution program  related to the safety against the corona virus (COVID-19)  organised by Department of Students Welfare (DSW) University of Kashmir (KU) concluded successfully in the districts of Srinagar, Budgam, Ganderbal and Anantnag.

The program  was organized by the Department of Students Welfare for Specially abled institutes and registered orphanages operating in the Valley.
DSW along with around 30 student volunteers from various Post Graduate departments of the University participated in the said awareness campaign on safety against the COVID – 19 and distributed essential kits which include face masks, hand sanitizers, liquid soaps, and informative Pamphlets. 

The drive was successfully conducted in four districts of the Valley during which a population of  3400 was covered  which was provided with necessary kits along with hands on demonstrations regarding hand wash techniques, self isolation, self quarantine measures, use of hand sanitizers and other pivotal health talks regarding COVID – 19 in person by  Prof Raies A Qadri, Dean Students Welfare. 

The department visited the registered orphanages and specially abled institutions of the mentioned districts some of which includes integrated child development services, Khag, Budgam, Gulshani Atfaal Yateem Khana, Janglat Mandi Anantnag, Al Masumeen Yateem Trust, Zadibal, Srinagar, Shahi Jeelan Yateem Trust, Zoonimar, Srinagar.

The department got appreciations from different quarters especially district administration and the efforts undertaken  by the department  were hailed  the Vice-Chancellor KU Prof Talat Ahmad  for these untutored sections of the society.

At culmination ceremony Prof. Raies A Qadri, thanked  Vice-Chancellor for his kind support and cooperation for organizing such programs.
