Kohli becomes fastest to score 20000 international runs

NEW DELHI: Indian legend Virat Kohli today became the fastest cricketer to score 20,000 international runs.

The India Skipper reached the milestone when he reached the score of 37 against West Indies at Old Trafford.

Virat Kohli took just 416 innings to reach the milestone and bettered the time taken by greats such as Sachin Tendulkar and Brain Lara.

Virat Kohli had 18,963 runs in international cricket before the innings and needed a further 37 to reach the 20,000 run mark. Kohli has done so in 416 innings (131 Tests, 223 ODIs and 62 T20Is), while Tendulkar and Lara each took 453 innings. Third on the list currently is former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting, who took 468 innings.

This is India’s sixth match at the ICC cricket World Cup and India have been unbeaten so far in the competition garnering nine points in the process.
