Kishtwar: BLOs sensitized about provision of Postal Ballot

KISHTWAR: A special training session- cum-meeting was today organized to sensitize the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) about the provision of Postal Ballot for covid patients, elderly persons, persons with disabilities and those living away from their areas.

Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Kishore Singh Katoch sensitized the BLOs about the provision and procedure for Postal Vote kept for the DDC and Panchayat By-elections.

The meeting was also attended by Chief Medical Officer, Dr R S Manhas, District Social Welfare Officer, Tariq Parveaz Qazi, Election Naib Tehsildar, Angrez Singh Jasrotia, Master trainer Girdhari Lal besides other officials.

The meeting was informed that an appropriate mechanism has been put in place for the successful implementation of Postal ballot scheme for the absentee voters.

It was also given out that    the absentee voters who includes persons above 80 years of age, Persons with physical Disability PwD, COVID-19 suspect or patients who are quarantined at home or hospital, electors deployed for election duty on day of poll and the electors deployed for COVID mitigation duties on the day of poll  will have to  approach concerned Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) for their registration on given forms  for hassle free exercise of their franchise.

 The Absentee Voters Postal Ballot forms (DAPB) and Panchayat Absentee Voters Postal Ballot forms (PAPB) were also distributed among BLOs for further distribution among the concerned voters.
