Family urges authorities to airlift his body to Sgr for last rites

SRINAGAR: A Kashmiri engineer, who was among nearly 150 people who went missing after a glacier burst in Uttarakhand last week, was found on Friday after six days.

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) the family of project engineer Basharat Zargar, said that the body of their beloved was recovered today after six days of the incident.

“The body has been recovered. We are at the police station completing the legal formalities,” Saliq Basharat, son of deceased told KNO.

Meanwhile, the family members urged the authorities to airlift his body for last rites at his native place.

“We urge the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha led administration to intervene into the matter and ensure the body is airlifted to Srinagar,” the family members said.

The deceased Kashmiri engineer is a resident of 90-Feet Soura in Srinagar and he was working in Uttarakhand.
