KATHUA: As part of Phase–II of the National Pride – Vande Mataram campaign, the District Administration Kathua organised a series of programmes across the district and all its sub-divisions. The initiative aimed at fostering patriotism, national unity and reinforcing constitutional values among the masses.
A grand mass recitation of Vande Mataram was organised at the Sports Stadium, which witnessed the enthusiastic participation of thousands of people, including students, youth, government employees, security personnel and members of civil society. The collective recitation created an atmosphere imbued with patriotic fervour and national pride.
Deputy Commissioner, Rajesh Sharma highlighted the historical background and national significance of Vande Mataram. He elaborated upon its pivotal role during India’s freedom struggle and underscored its enduring relevance in strengthening national unity, integrity and constitutional ethos.
Meanwhile, a symposium was organised at another venue wherein a large number of students actively participated and shared their perspectives on the historical and national importance of the National Song. The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the enthusiasm of the students and lauded the smooth conduct of the programme, urging them to uphold the values of unity and nationalism.
At PWD Guest House Billawar, the National Song was recited under the guidance of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Vinay Khosla with participation from officers and local citizens.
An awareness lecture on the history and significance of Vande Mataram hosted at Government Degree College, Ramkote. Educational institutions across the district actively contributed to the campaign through a series of activities including a Campus Cleanliness Drive organised by the NSS Unit of Government Degree College, Hiranagar and a quiz competition by the NSS Unit of Government Degree College for Women, Kathua.
Government offices at Basohli also marked the occasion with the collective recitation of the National Song. The celebration of Vande Mataram was also held across all POSHAN Projects of the District.
