JRL protests against slapping of PSA on Yasin Malik, JeI ban

SRINAGAR: A protest was held at Maisuma after Friday prayers to demand release of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik and revocation of ban on Jama’at-e-Islami.

Reports said that scores of leaders and activists gathered at Maisuma after the weekly congregational prayers on the call of Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) and staged a demonstration.

The protesters raised slogans and demanded the release of Malik who was booked under Public Safety Act and shifted to Kot Balwal jail in Jammu yesterday.

The protesters also demanded the revocation of ban on JeI and release of all political prisoners lodged in various jails in and outside the state.

Meanwhile, senior JKLF Muhammad Rafi Nanaji was detained by the police from his Natipora residence, a spokesman of the amalgam said.
