JKPYC pays rich tributes to Mahatma on Gandhi Jayanti, demands restoration of statehood to J&K

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Youth Congress activists paid rich tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary at Gandhi Chowk Satwari here today.

After performing the rituals of garlanding and showering of flower petals on the statue of Bapu ji a simple but impressive function amid strict Covid SOPs was held in which the philosophy and ideology of the saint leader was highlighted by various speakers.

While paying tributes to the Father of the Nation, General Secretary JKPYC, Nimrandeep Singh said that today there is a dire need to follow Gandhian ideology in letter and spirit and it needs to be realized that Gandhiji never believed in divisions but always stood for uniting hearts and territories. He said the Union Government has demeaned the Gandhian philosophy by bifurcating Jammu and Kashmir State into two Union Territories which is a great injustice to the people of this region.

The JKPYC General Secretary reiterated the party’s demand for restoring back the statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. He said that while spreading Gandhi’s ideology in every nook and corner, the Youth Congress will conduct regular visits to every district of Jammu and Kashmir and make the people aware about their rights under the Gandhian ideology so that they get united to fight for the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir by launching a fruitful campaign as per the Gandhian principles.
