SRINAGAR: Jamiya Tariq of Delhi Public School, Srinagar won the silver medal in the State Wushu Championship which was held in Jammu from 23rd to 27th April 2019.
She defeated Romona of Srinagar in the weight Category ‘above 24’ and age category ‘U-12’. More than 400 participants from across the districts of the state participated in the games.
Principal Alistair R A Freese congratulated her and declared “Her achievement at such a tender age shows her immense grit and dedication. The School is delighted with her performance.”
The Chairman, Vijay Dhar also expressed his happiness: “I am glad that our students showcase before the world the immense effort we put in building and strengthening character in our students.”
