JAMMU: The two-day International seminar on the topic “Composite Culture and Urdu Literature” was concluded today by organizing a valedictory function. The valedictory function was presided over by Prof. M.A. Wani while reputed short story writer of the sub-continent Khalid Hussain was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Different speakers from different parts of the world described the seminar most informative and according to the need of the present scenario of the country.
The papers which were presented on the occasion were according to the theme of the seminar and threw light on the old age composite culture of Indian people. They said that India though having a different religion has a rich composite culture. The paper writers highlighted and traced the composite culture in various genres of Urdu language like poetry, Novel, Short Stories, Non-Fiction literature, masnavi and Marsia. Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik, HOD Urdu and Dean Faculty of Arts thanked the paper writers who presented the papers on the occasion.
He announced that all the papers would be published in a book form so that the new generation could be benefitted.
Earlier three academic sessions were held in which various paper writers within and outside the country presented their papers. The academic session was presided over by Prof. Khawaja Ekram-Uddin, Prof. Muyeed Javeed, Khalid Hussain, Dr. Reyaz Ahmed, Prof. M.A. Wani and others. An International Urdu Mushairas was also held which was presided over by reputed Urdu poet and Researcher Dr. Taqi Abedi from Canada.
The poet who recited their poetry and entertains the audience included Aresh Sahabai, Muyeed Javeed, Vidya Rattan Asi, Amin Banhali, Md Mohsin, Sahfi Ayoub and Rizwan. Dr Shehnaz Qadri conducted the proceedings of the Mushira while Dr. Dr Shahnawaz Choudhary, Cultural Officer, Academy of Arts, Culture and languages presented a vote of thanks
The two-day International seminar was attended by the students, scholars and members of the civil society in a large number.
