With the construction of the new mobile towers, these remote villages in Ladakh in some of the most difficult terrains will now have reliable mobile and 4G internet connectivity. The new telecom infrastructure will bring critical connectivity support to the residents of these villages.

Speaking about the construction of towers, Sukesh Thareja, Circle CEO-Jammu & Kashmir, Indus Towers Limited said, “Building mobile towers in Ladakh, which is one of the most isolated places in India and indeed the world, demanded a lot from our team. The team’s diligence demonstrates our dedication to the people of Ladakh. I thank the administration of Ladakh for giving us the opportunity to offer our services in enabling communications. Greater connectivity will bring more economic opportunity, convenience, and dynamism to this region. Indus Towers is committed to tackle the connectivity challenges and will continue to create a robust and efficient telecom infrastructure aligned with our mission of enabling communication across the nation. Our teams are well equipped to maintain the sites in case of any disruption due to weather or unavoidable technical issue.”

Braving the challenges of a tough terrain, extreme weather (temperatures ranging from a maximum of 2 to a minimum of -10 degree Celsius) and limited day light hours, a team of a dozen highly skilled people from Indus Towers successfully installed these 10 sites in about two months during November and December 2021.
