Two Hizb militant associates arrested in Awantipora

PULWAMA: Awantipora police on Friday claimed to have arrested two militant associates who as per the police are affiliated with Hizb-ul-Mujahideen.

Police spokesman in a statement issued to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), identified the arrested persons as Sayar Ahmad Shah of Tral and Tanseem @ Tanveer Ahmad Sheikh of Awantipora.

“As per police records, they are involved in assisting active militants of HM operating in the areas of Tral and Awantipora. As per the investigations, they were providing logistic support and shelter to the active militants of HM. Incriminating material have been recovered from their possession,” police said.

Police said that cases vide FIR numbers 46/2020 and 68/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Tral and Police Station Awantipora respectively. “Further investigation into the cases is in progress,” police said.
