GMC Jammu Principal discusses management of Covid patients in DRDO hospital

JAMMU: Dr. Shashi Sudan Sharma, Principal Government Medical College and Associated Hospitals today chaired a meeting to discuss the issues pertaining to management of Covid 19 patients in DRDO Covid hospital Bhagwati Nagar Jammu.

A threadbare discussion was held with Ashwini Khajuria, Administrator AHJ, senior faculty members of GMC which have been nominated as Nodal Officers for DRDO Covid hospital Bhagwati Nagar Jammu and includes Dr. Mukta Jitendera Professor from Department of anesthesia , Dr. Sanjeev Digra Professor from department of paediatric , Dr. Fayaz Ahmed Wani Professor from department of Medicine, Specialist Doctors of DRDO Bhagwati Nagar Jammu and Hospital Administration including Dr. Narinder Medical Superintendent and all the Dy. Medical Superintendents of DRDO COVID Hospital Jammu.

During the meeting Principal GMC Jammu assured full support on behalf of GMC Jammu and informed that there will be regular visits of faculty members from GMC Jammu to strengthen the patient care services in DRDO COVID Hospital Bhagwati Nagar Jammu. During her round of the hospital she was pleased about the functioning of the DRDO COVID Hospital and care being given to the Patients. She also stressed on all to follow and educate others to follow Covid appropriate behavior for control of Covid Pandemic and ensure preparedness for 3rd wave.        

It is pertinent to mention here that 500 BEDED DRDO HOSPITAL Jammu has been established in record time of three weeks with active collaborative efforts of DRDO and authorities of JK UT.

The Hospital has been provided with state of art infrastructure which include fully air conditioner 125 Bedded ICU & 375 oxygen beds having separate ear marked beds for paediatric patients,20 kilo liters X 2 LMO supply, Dedicated control room for maintenance and attending distress calls, in house Amrit pharmacy round the clock, CCTV’s for supervision, transportation fleet from 108 calls, dietary services for staff and patients etc.

It is worthwhile to mention that till date 19 patients have been admitted in the DRDO hospital and out of which 5 patients were discharged on Friday after full recovery.
