Jammu District witnesses widespread participation in MTMP, Day 1 culminates with inspection of development works; distribution of Domicile Certificates, coverage of beneficiaries

JAMMU: As part of My Town My Pride programme initiative of Government to provide governance at the door steps of public in the urban areas on the pattern of the B2V,

Financial Commissioner Health and Medical Education, Atal Dulloo today visited Jammu district and interacted with the locals of Gandhinagar falling in Zone 3 of Jammu Municipal corporation.

He kicked off the MTMP programme by holding an interaction with the Mayor JMC, Chander Mohan, Deputy Mayor JMC, Purnima Sharma and other corporators to get the first hand knowledge about the issues being faced by urban populace and their demands, He also took a round of  Zone 3 along with concerned officers  and distributed loan sanction letters among the beneficiaries of Rehri Zone under PM Street Vendors Atamnirbhar Nidhi Scheme. He also inspected various ongoing development works including the fountain at Gujjar Nagar chowk.

While highlighting the objective of the programme, he said that the two day programme will enable the Officers to get the real time information about the problems faced by people in urban areas and come out with solutions for upgradation of urban infrastructure and amenities.

In Zone 2 of JMC, the visiting officer M S Choudhary, Director Employment, inspected recently constructed toilet complex at Janipur near SDM office and gave on the spot directions to expedite the works. He also insepected ongoing construction work of District Employment and Counseling Centre at Shakti Nagar. 

Another visiting officer in  Zone 1  Pardeep Kumar, Transport Commissioner, inspected an Open Gym set up at Rana Rajinder Singh Memorial Municipal Park New Rehari, Fountains installed at JP Chowk Gumat, Construction of Multi Level Parking at Panjtirthi  in EPC mode, Nallah and drainage network along Chatta Chowadi and Sainik Colony areas under AMRUT. 

Moreover, in Zone 1, a camp was organised by the Revenue Department as many as 403 Domicile certificates, 4 EWS, 16 caste certificates, 53 income certificates and 2 legal heir certificates were issued to the beneficiaries on the spot.

In Municipal Committee Gho Manhasan, the visiting officer Kusum Badyal inspected various ongoing development projects besides inspecting the stalls setup by various Department in a Mela.

In Municipal Committee Jourian, the visiting officer distributed cheques  and keys among the beneficiaries of  PMAY urban scheme.

Similarly in other Municipal Committees of the district also various activities were held which included camps for issuance of domicile certificates, distribution of cheques among beneficiaries of PMAY, registration of beneficiaries under various government schemes, besides inspection of recently completed and ongoing development works.
