Samples of suspects sent for genome sequencing; 6.5 lakh people vaccinated, vaccination for above 45 yrs from tomorrow
SRINAGAR: No case of the mutant virus has been found as of now in J&K, however, samples of some suspected have been sent for genome sequencing, officials said on Wednesday.
Financial Commissioner Health Atal Dulloo while talking exclusively with—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that as of now no case of the mutant virus has been found in J&K, however, samples of few suspected persons have been sent for genome sequencing whose reports are yet to come.
Top officials within the department said that as usual, they are sending samples of some persons for genome sequencing and as of now no case of any mutant virus has been found in J&K.
They said that samples of few persons who have travel history of such countries where mutant viruses have been found, have also tested positive for covid-19 and are suspected cases.
Financial commissioner Health also said that so far around 6.5 lakh people have been vaccinated and the vaccination process is going on in full swing.
Dulloo said that the process of vaccination for all those who are above 45 years of age will be eligible for vaccination from tomorrow.
He requested people to come forward for vaccination and follow Covid-19 protocol in letter and spirit even after taking the vaccination.
